Livestock grazing is permitted on most trust lands and is an important component of our land stewardship efforts.
Most trust lands are scattered within Bureau of Land Management (BLM) allotments and are permitted to BLM permittees. However, there are some blocks of trust lands which are fenced separately from federal allotments and are currently permitted at the higher “Block” rates.
Trust Land’s grazing permits are normally issued for 15-year terms. These permits can be cancelled with a 30 day notice for a higher or better use.
Each year, expiring permits are available for competitive bidding. A list of the expiring permits will be posted on our website during the month of February. Competitive bids are only accepted during the month of April.
