SITLA finalized a development project with Steward Health Care, the nation’s largest private, physician-owned health care network. Steward will build a new state-of-the-art hospital on trust lands in Washington County. The new hospital will be located within the City of Washington at the milepost 13 interchange off Interstate 15. Washington connects with St. George and is a major center of Washington County. Steward’s new hospital is set to anchor the Zion Medical Village, a planned community designed to provide a wide range of healthcare services to the region. The village is located on approximately 110 acres within a larger 1,122-acre block of trust lands. The hospital will serve St. George, one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the United States. Steward intends to break ground in July and begin serving patients in October 2023.
